Development of a “merit order” of regeneration heat for geothermal fields in urban residential areas.

The "ecoRegeneration" project deals with decentralised urban heat supply and examines the question of how, in the case of predominant use of heat, geothermal heat probes in urban areas must be managed in order to be efficient in the long run.

It will examine the waste heat from supermarkets and other businesses on-site, waste heat from data centres and the additional installation of heat supply systems.

Coordinated by company e7, the project team works on application guidelines and suitable business models for optimal, early integration of cost-effective regeneration heat into urban residential areas. The target groups of the project are city administrations as well as developers and planners.

The Energy Center leads the topic of waste heat from data centres, with the aim of creating suitable framework conditions for cities to ensure targeted settlement of data centres in urban residential areas and the integration of their waste heat into heat supply concepts.
